Junior Achievement Trip

Grade 5 will be going to Junior Achievement Biz-Town On February 28th. We have been working hard to teach students economics! Please help at home by assisting your student in writing checks!

  • Have your child fill out a check for you!

  • Have your child practice his or her signature

  • Have your child sit with you when paying bills: teaches your student the reality of their Biz-Town experience!

Reading Week of February 20th-24th

This week we are reading "Trickster Tales"

Skill of the week Author's Purpose

Vocabulary This Week:

  1. riverbank

  2. wares

  3. treasurer

  4. merchandise

  5. educate

  6. burdens

  7. appreciation

  8. unfortunate

Working with Analogies: Analogies help you see the relationship between words. If you know the relationship between one pair of words, you can figure out the meaning of an unfamilar word in the second pair of words. For example, happy is to mournful as fortunate is to unfortunate.
